The INN Philadelphia, Philadelphia PA

"The Inn Philadelphia is quietly settled in two 19th century townhouses on Camac St. (One of the oldest blocks in Philadelphia.).......Camac Street is the only wooden block street in America, (under the macadam). At the turn of the twentieth century, Camac Street was Philadelphia’s "Latin Quarter". The street was strewn with bordellos and had a police squad dedicated to its safety. At that time, in order to change the image of Camac Street, the City of Philadelphia actively pursued private clubs to occupy the properties....The buildings on the 200 block of South Camac Street and a tunnel that runs under the street were used to shelter slaves that were travelling north via the "Underground Railroad"prior to and during the Civil War..... The buildings that now house The INN Philadelphia were originally constructed in 1824 and 1825 in the "Federal style" during the Federal period of architecture. Paranormal experts have detected the presence of spiritual life forces in the buildings."  from: http://innphiladelphia.com/
