CASE INFORMATION
The house along with the cemetery property is connected with Dr. Benjamin Rush, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, who owned the property from 1781 - 1792. During the Revolutionary War, Benjamin Rush was a surgeon with the Philadelphia Militia and became the first Surgeon General on April 11, 1777. There are many Revolutionary War veterans burined here as well as veterans from the War of 1812 Civil War, World War I and World War II. An early Indian burial ground is rumored to be somewhere on the property. This cemetery has fallen on hard times but is making a comeback. SJGR has volunteered it's time to help with clean ups here. April 2005 November 2004
This was our first investigation of the cemetery, office building, receiving vault and the Rush house. We obtained the most acitivty in the office and in the Rush house. An apparition of a cat was observed and heard by investigators in the Rush house. There was a lot of energy felt in both the office and the Rush house by most investigators. EVP's were obtained in the recieving vault, office and Rush house.
